Putnam County Fair Hog Gates

Putnam County Fair Hog Gates

This was a fun community service project to help support our local 4H youth who take animals to the Putnam County Fair. These livestock gates were purchased used and we were asked to re-finish them to like new condition. They came to us in bad shape as you can see from the before photos. The first step was to remove the old coating, which we accomplished in our new and improved burn off oven. Next, we blasted them in our inline blaster to a SSPC-SP6 blast profile. The last thing to be done was to powder coat them with something that would stand up to the hard days ahead of being used in a livestock building. We coated them with black XMR powder from PPG that is available in a wide range of colors and glosses. It features exterior durability, good chemical resistance, excellent mar and scratch resistance, and is UL approved. As you can see, the livestock gates turned out great and was a much needed improvement to the hog barn. Come to the Putnam County Fair and check them out!
