Pat Langhals-Tietje

Owner

Pat Langhals profile Pat Langhals-Tietje is the Owner and President of Colonial Surface Solutions. She has been here since January 2018, when the company was purchased with her late husband, Darren, from his aunt and uncle, Tom and Jan Langhals. Pat provides long-term vision and direction for the business, as well as makes all the major financial and business decisions for the company as she builds customer and employee relationships. During the workday, she oversees business improvements and assists plant personnel and daily production as needed.  Family time is the focus when Pat is not at work. She has 10 children and recently welcomed a new grandchild. Pat enjoys time at the lake, baking, family vacations, and watching her children’s activities. Before joining the leadership team at Colonial, Pat was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years. She was proud to be able to raise her family and homeschool her children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton, as well as a Circulation Technology Certificate from The Ohio State University.

Doug Langhals

General Manager

Doug Langhals profile Doug Langhals joined Colonial Surface Solutions in 2019 as our General Manager. Doug brings decades of manufacturing experience to the company. He decided to join the family business after the loss of his late brother, Darren.

Doug began his manufacturing career in 1988 where he focused his interests in quality engineering and shop floor management. He expanded his knowledge by working 15 years in the automotive world, where he held various managerial positions in quality, production, materials, and engineering. He also filled the role as the management representative for several ISO quality and environmental systems, including ISO QS-9000, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and TS- 16949. Doug completed his MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2010.

Beyond work, he enjoys spending time with his loving wife Mary, their six children and their first grandchild. Doug is very excited to join Pat and the Colonial team and he looks forward to continuing to provide the best service and attain the highest customer satisfaction for our customers.

Pat Clark

Director of Business Development

Pat Clark profile Pat Clark is the Director of Business Development here at Colonial. He has been with us since 2015. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous positions within the steel industry.

His duties include ensuring our business is moving forward and growing. During his day-to-day, he establishes contact with existing customers, identifies new business opportunities, and follows up on potential leads.

Since Pat is a direct link to our customers, he also addresses and reports any concerns and competitive conditions to the support team here at Colonial.

Tony Romaker

Accounting/HR Administrator

Tony Romaker profile image Tony Romaker joined Colonial Surface Solutions in October 2022 as our Accounting/HR Administrator.  Tony has in excess of 30 years of accounting and HR administration experience.

Tony coordinates our accounts payable activity, collection efforts, general ledger activity, reconciliation, payroll, and human resource administration.

Tony has experience working in wholesale, research, manufacturing, and sales and service business sectors.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bowling Green State University
in 1983 and his Master of Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, in 1996.

When not at work, Tony enjoys sports, music, and spending time with his three grown children.

Brice Rewakowsky

Quality Manager

Brice Rewakowsky profile image Brice Rewakowsky is the Quality Manager here at Colonial Surface Solutions.  He joined the team in August of 2023 as an escape from the corporate world to get familiar with a small family business.  Originally from the area, a graduate of Cory-Rawson, he is happy to get back to his small-town roots, bringing with him 12 years of automotive quality experience.

Brice oversees all aspects of quality at CSS, reviewing most projects at every milestone.  He and his team are active daily on the production floor, monitoring all applications of every process.

In his free time, Brice paints, gardens, and reads. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. 

Barry Coppus

Project Estimator

Barry Coppus profile image Barry Coppus is our project estimator. He holds a mechanical engineer’s associate degree from Owens Community College in Findlay. He brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our projects, ensuring precision and excellence in every aspect.

With a loving family, Barry takes pride in being a father to 3 boys and stepfather to 2 boys and 1 girl. He finds immense joy in attending and cheering on his children during their sporting and musical events, demonstrating his commitment to family values.

Outside of work, Barry shares quality moments with his wife, embarking on long car rides that lead them to exciting destinations. Nature is his playground, whether camping or engaging in various activities around the house. Barry’s dedication to both his professional and personal life embodies the spirit of our team, and we’re proud to have him as a valued member of our family.

Jayne Prowant

EHS Supervisor

Jayne Prowant profile image Jayne Prowant joined Colonial Surface Solutions in December 2023 as the EHS Supervisor. While working on the family farm in Putnam County, she was inspired to pursue a career in
Engineering, receiving her degree from The Ohio State University.

With 30 years of industrial experience, she has worked in many different roles, including environmental, facility, and manufacturing engineering, supervision, operations manager, and health & safety. Most of her roles were in the television tube or injection molding facilities, but she is looking forward to learning more about surface preparation and coatings.

Jayne enjoys farming, gardening, and traveling with her family and friends in her free time. She
also enjoys a good pickup game of pickleball and spending time with her two cats.

Ronna Harris

Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Ronna Harris profile image Meet Ronna Harris, the friendly face and Shipping & Receiving Clerk at Colonial Surface Solutions. Joining our team in September 2022, Ronna quickly embraced her role, bringing a positive and warm personality to our front desk.

Prior to Colonial, Ronna spent 16 dedicated years as a stay-at-home mom, raising four children. She holds degrees in Business Administration and Criminal Justice from AIU in Atlanta, GA. Transitioning from a career in corrections with the State of Ohio, Ronna sought a better work-life balance.

Beyond her professional life, Ronna loves traveling with her fiancé Dan and exploring destinations, including her hometown in Oklahoma. Their shared goal is to visit all major league baseball parks in the United States. Ronna also enjoys billiards, disc golf, hiking, and cherished moments with family and friends.

Known affectionately as Gram-Cracker (aka Gram Gram) to her grandson Ian or her ‘lil marshmallow,’ Ronna’s vibrant personality adds a delightful touch to our Colonial Surface Solutions family.

Evan Ward

Production Manager

Evan Ward profile image Meet Evan Ward, our Production Manager who joined the Colonial Surface Solutions team in 2024. With over two decades of experience in manufacturing around the Findlay area, Evan brings a wealth of expertise to his role, with half of that time spent in plant or production manager positions.

In his capacity as Production Manager, Evan oversees day-to-day operations and maintains continuous communication with customers regarding current and upcoming production jobs. He serves as the direct liaison between customer preferences and the production team, ensuring a seamless workflow.

Evan is a proud graduate of Carey High School and Bluffton University. He currently resides in Carey with his wife Heather and three younger children, while his older boys have made their homes in the Columbus area. Beyond work, Evan is actively involved in coaching the youth football program, CYO basketball, and MJM softball. As a family, they share a love for travel, competition, and sports – particularly cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
