Owner

Pat Langhals profile Pat Langhals is the Owner and President of Colonial Surface Solutions. She has been here since January 2018, when the company was purchased with her late husband, Darren, from his aunt and uncle, Tom and Jan Langhals. Pat provides long-term vision planning, as well as makes all the financial and business decisions for the company as she builds customer and employee relationships. During the workday, she keeps track of production and handles day-to-day tasks for our major customers. Family time is the focus when Pat is not at work. She has 10 children and recently welcomed a new grandchild. Pat enjoys time at the lake, baking, family vacations, and watching her children’s activities and sports. Before joining the leadership team at Colonial, Pat was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years. She was proud to be able to raise her family and homeschool her children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton, as well as a Circulation Technology Certificate from The Ohio State University.

Doug Langhals

General Manager

Doug Langhals profile Doug Langhals joined Colonial Surface Solutions in 2019 as our General Manager. Doug brings decades of manufacturing experience to the company. He decided to join the family business after the loss of his late brother, Darren.

Doug began his manufacturing career in 1988 where he focused his interests in quality engineering and shop floor management. He expanded his knowledge by working 15 years in the automotive world, where he held various managerial positions in quality, production, materials, and engineering. He also filled the role as the management representative for several ISO quality and environmental systems, including ISO QS-9000, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and TS- 16949. Doug completed his MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2010.

Beyond work, he enjoys spending time with his loving wife Mary, their six children and their first grandchild. Doug is very excited to join Pat and the Colonial team and he looks forward to continuing to provide the best service and attain the highest customer satisfaction for our customers.

Pat Clark

Director of Business Development

Pat Clark profile Pat Clark is the Director of Business Development here at Colonial. He has been with us since 2015. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous positions within the steel industry.

His duties include ensuring our business is moving forward and growing. During his day-to-day, he establishes contact with existing customers, identifies new business opportunities, and follows up on potential leads.

Since Pat is a direct link to our customers, he also addresses and reports any concerns and competitive conditions to the support team here at Colonial.

Jeremy Goodman

Production Manager

Jeremy Goodman profile image Jeremy Goodman joined our team in May 2023 as the Production Manager. Jeremy brings a wealth of industrial knowledge and management with over 20 years of experience in manufacturing. He studied Business Management and played baseball while in college at Lakeland College in Cleveland. He helped start two different companies during his career and both are still thriving.

In his free time, he runs a softball organization with his wife, Melissa. He coaches the 16U Ohio Lady Legends Fastpitch Softball team. He has four daughters and one son. He enjoys traveling with his wife.

Jeremy is very excited to join Colonial Surface Solutions and he looks forward to learning all aspects of the business.
