The Fort Wayne Riverwalk project was a fun project for us to work on. It tested our capabilities, as it was a wet paint job, as well as powder coating. The parts came to us galvanized, so the first step was to blast them to a SSPC-SP16 standard. The wet paint portion of this project included the uprights for the tree top canopy and the underneath bracing. We primed with a Tnemec epoxy which has excellent resistance to abrasion and is suitable for immersion as well as chemical contact exposure. We then top coated with a Tnemec polyurethane that is highly resistant to abrasion, wet conditions, corrosive fumes and exterior weathering. This color is called Moon Shadow.
The benches throughout the walkway were powder coated with a PPG UD Polyester. This ultra-durable powder provides a combination of good physical and chemical resistant properties with excellent resistance to outdoor weathering. This color is called Khaki Grey and looks great with the Moon Shadow tree top canopy.
Go check it out and let us know what you think!
